I remember what growing up was like with my sister. Sure, we argued a lot, but we also agreed on many things, and eventually we became the best of friends.
I remember my parents telling me how excited she was when she was little and they were bringing me home for the first time.
A connection between siblings is something very special, but due to some terrible medical circumstances, the connection between Ashton and Lexi, the siblings in the video below, may not have been made at all.
The video below shows the moment this little boy meets his newborn sister, an encounter that almost never happened.
In March of 2013, Alexis Lily, or “Lexi” as she’s known, was finally brought home to meet her big brother Ashton, who at the time was just three-years-old.
This came after poor Lexi had to spend a whopping 109 days in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Her mom had been diagnosed with severehellp syndrome, which is a life-threatening pregnancy complication.
Lexi came into this world only weighing 1 pound, 1.8 ounces.
But as small as she was, the fight in her was amazingly large.
For those 109 days, under watchful care, Lexi fought off a shocking number of ailments, until finally, on that fateful day in March, she was able to go home!
Watch the video below to see the heartwarming moment Ashton finally meets his baby sister.
